Started at 7am at Max. I caught one small smallmouth in 2 1/2 hours. The water was really dingy so I decided to pick up and go to Tippy. I got to Tippy and fished for a couple hours catching only one largemouth. Cursing the whole time because of all the inconsiderate people on the lake and all the weeds floating around that had been dislodged by all the inconsiderate people. So picked I up again and went to Robinson lake and to my surprise there were 5 boats on this lake. Well I started fishing and caught a couple on my scum frog, one of which is the biggest bass I've caught this year. 18" largemouth
After I caught and released this monster I saw some bass crashing the surface. So I put on my rocket shad and headed over to the party. This bite was weird, the bass were hitting one at a time, like an old martial arts movie. They never really schooled up and smashed the surface together for any amount of time. They just stayed with this onesy twosy crap, so my lure of choice was virtually useless. Anyway there was another guy out there and he was doing the same thing I was but he was using senko rigged wacky. After he had 4 fish to my 1 I yelled over to him that no matter how many he caught I'm not changing. Well I stayed true to my word, I actually didn't change, however I did rig up another rod to throw a senko. I even managed to catch a couple with this rig. So after fishing "with" this guy for the remainder of the day he mentioned that he had gone through a bag of plastics. I showed him how I had my senko rigged with an o-ring and how it let me not tear up my lure. He thought that was pretty cool and so I gave him a couple for him to try. After fishing this way I told him it's not my favorite but I will keep a pole rigged to fish a senko.
