2013 vacation

I just got back from my working vacation. I call it a working vacation cause everyone wanted me to work this year.
I went up to Rick's cabin on Rainy Lake and spent three day's catching fish. I also got to help take out, and put in a window, and level the pontoon lift.
I was casting off the dock for pike and managed to get my lure hung up on the neighbors' crib. So since the wind had been blowing into the bay for a couple days I went in and got it, the water was great.
Here's some pics from Rainy:
Biggest walleye 24"

coolest woodpecker

Biggest Pike 37"
Biggest spider-HUGE

We had fish for every meal but one, it was another great trip up North.
Thanks Rick

Then I went back home and went fishing with my cousin Corey in a one fish weigh in tournament. We each caught one and they were 18" Corey's  and 16" mine. Unfortunately we missed being in the money by 8 places. Oh well there's always next year, I would've had a pic but you wouldn't be able to see anything anyway. It was wet, cold and foggy the whole day, here's some pics of the fog in Duluth just to give you an idea.

So as you can see it gets pretty foggy. These are actually clear compared to what we where fishing in.

After that I got to mow the lawn and solder Dad's solar panel for charging the boat batteries. Then we went to the shack to cut the lawn and the second field. The first problem was all the trees were gone. Apparently the decision was reached to cut the pines and buy the 40 behind the shack. It sure was bare, but the deer don't care I guess, judging by this one.

Here's the rest of the shack pics:

Here's some before the cut pics:

Work aside we had a pretty fun day, we got to go wheeling, had lunch and just enjoyed the day.

I've got some video that will go here when I have time to make it

I really need to put the new addition pictures in here, my cousin just got this little guy and his name is Kenji
sorry about the pic but I got took it with my phone

Yes it's a hedgehog... I think she should've named him Sonic.

These next two pics are on my way home I took them just as I got into Wis.

Foggy, cool, rainy, and windy was the order of the day for this vacation. I got scratched, burnt, cut and found 18 wood ticks on my body.
Best vacation ever.
I had a great time, Thanks to everyone.
