Roosted was Roasted

Finally turkey season got here, and I was lucky enough to get drawn to hunt Mississinewa. So I got all my gear ready and headed south for my 3 day hunt. I set up camp then I went to check out the turkey situation, I saw 3 hens. Around 5pm my neighbor Tom showed up to accompany me on my hunt the following day. He had never been on a turkey hunt before and I was more than happy to invite him along.
After we ate, we waited until it was close to dark then went out to roost some birds. In the next hour I hooted up at least 5 turkeys, and fortunately 1 of them was in an area I had already scouted and had seen plenty of sign in.
I could tell you all about it right now...... or I could just let the video do the talking.

Just a little behind the scenes here: 5 minutes after I got to the parking area and started to get ready. A truck had pulled into the same parking area I was in. He wanted to hunt the same section of property I was going to hunt. Since we were there first he did the honorable thing and bowed out to find another section of the 10,000 acres to hunt.

Thanks to that hunter for doing the right thing. I hope he got a turkey also.

I had a great Turkey season.
By the way here's the stats: 23#'s, 13" beard and 3/4" spurs a nice 2 year old.
