2 days to go

DEER SEASON STARTS OCT 1 and I'll be at work. I will however be in the deer stand in the later hours of the day. Then after a week of work and hunt I will have 3 days off to try and bring home a deer. Just remember duck season starts on the 17 of Oct and runs til Dec. My goal this year, as it was last year is to get a banded duck. It's a needle in a haystack but everyone's gotta have goals. So until I post a pic and/or some vid of my deer, wish me luck.

Sept. 15 last day early goose

Well ended up hunting only 4 days and gathered 6 geese one of them today. Work really didn't help me this year I have been on first most of the time. Anyway I didn't get a pic of the goose,I did however get a pic of the egret that landed behind me

When I got home I cleaned my goose and took all my goose decoys out of the boat and loaded up my duck decoy's in anticipation of duck opener. Hopefully it will start early for me this year. As we all know duck season starts on oct 17. Deer season opens on oct 1st so I have to put something brown down before something that flies dies. Wish me luck and if I have any I should have a great deer vid to post. I'll let cha know.

The reason not to practice fatigued

Well I was shooting my bow today and somewhere around the 32 shot mark I missed. Yep happens to the best of us and it happened to me. Nothing else really I can say sooooo here are the pics.

Now for the tip section of my blog: How to repurpose a carbon arrow into something useful.

1.) Take your turkey decoy stake and cut 3-4" off both ends (the metal stakes with the plastic tips) so you can make 2 stakes (you can figure it out).

2.) Then attach the end to one end of the arrow shaft. Save the other end for your next miscalculated shot.

3.) Leave practice tip intact for the easy placement of stake.

This is what you will end up with.

You can also use the arrow as a post for a spinning wing dove decoy.

Dove and Goose

Well I've been getting out as much as I can without wearing myself down too much. Been out for dove and a couple times for goose. Just got done with this mornings hunt and managed the only goose I saw. I went fishing at my buddies lake last night and heard and saw geese all evening. While I was goose hunting today I saw 10-15 doves. These critters obviously have not read my script. Anywho hope your doing as good if not better than I. Here's the pics

might try for some more dove this week works got me in the morning but the afternoons are all mine.

Today is the day

Today kicked off the hunting season with a wonderful day in the goose boat. The first day with the first flock downing the first double of the year not a bad way to start. All told I ended up with 4 geese. Sorry so short but gotta get ready for the rest of the week. I'll try and update as soon as I can but the first 2 weeks are hunt sleep hunt sleep work hunt work sleep well you get the picture. Hey speaking of pictures....
