This week...
I've been pretty busy, still working on getting my POS titled and registered DONE. Getting all my vacation clothes and gear put away DONE, and getting back into work mode DONE. Start working on my boat again.... not done but started. I went out into the garage yesterday to start working on it and realized when they installed my hydraulic steering they didn't route it correctly, so I had to take it back up and have them reroute it.

| After the fix... |
So with that done I got started on the kicker jack plate... again. I have to remove it
DONE, next week I'll be able to get the new holes drilled and 🙏 mount my motor, after that it "
should" be all down hill.
My vacation.....
Big shout out to everyone that came on vacation "with me", I had alot of fun spending time with everyone. I got to go to a grad party (Congrats Addy), I went shooting with the guys on skeet night, I shot 1 round OK and the second... well, not so good.
I went to the falls and visited with my cousins and their cat Cora.
 |
| FYI this cat is almost royalty.... Charles Barkley has pet her. 🙀 |
Sorry, I didn't get pics of Jess and Brin.
But Jason 👇 took the time, (he guides on Rainy) to take me fishing a couple times. The first day was kinda slow until the afternoon, then we were able to boat some fish.
Day 2 was pretty nautical and we didn't have alot of time, we did catch bass, some pretty decent.
Good times Thanks Jason.
I got to go fishing with my Dad a couple times.
 |
| Once again it takes alot of skill to land a boat of this size. |
I think we've had that pic almost every year. 😕
Thanks Dad it was alot of fun.
Jacee took me for a ride on his side by side.
Then we went fishing a couple times.
The first time we worked all day but ended up getting skunked.
We trolled and cast to no avail and finally got pushed off by the fog.
The second day was a different story....
 |
| This is my first MN muskie... |
These aren't the only fish we caught but they were the most memorable.
Thanks for taking the time Jacee.
My cousin Corey invited me out to go fishing with him.
Seems to me we've had this pic almost every year too. 😕
We held this guy hostage in the hopes of catching a couple more.... he got released.
I caught this guy on a spinner-bait slow rolled over some weeds. Corey was beside himself in disbelief.
Thanks Corey.
Then we went to Renee and Toms for supper... that was alot of fun.
Thanks Nae the food it was fantastic.
Yeah I know, no pics... I forgot my phone at Corey's.
I also went fishing by myself a couple days.
These are Chub lake cookie cutters, good lake close to town just not much size.
This year I went to a lake that Jason turned me onto last year.
Island lake... lotta good bass, decent pike and is also the lake I caught my first MN muskie out of.
This guy had another lure in his mouth when I caught him..... I gave the lure to Dad.👍
I'm always amazed at how small fish will hit large lures, and how large fish will hit small lures.
This is how my day ended....
Last but not least my Uncle Davey came in at the bell, finally got his boat in and asked if I wanted to go fishing.... to which I answered yeeeah!
So we met down at the dock in the am, it was Dave, my cousin Pete and his son Isiah, we loaded up and headed out onto Lake Superior.
I was a beautiful day on the lake...
Dave made up breakfast on the boat... eggs, bacon and toast... Mmmm
Yep, washed alot of lures and called it by 1:30ish but left empty handed. The only thing biting this day were the unholiest of unholy black flies....
Thanks Dave, it's always a good time.
This years meal that I made for Mom and Dad was goose fajita's, I think it went over pretty good.
I can't make my fajita's any smaller either and I eat them
alot. I don't have the space to tell you how "different" Mom makes her fajita.... I will say the sour cream was on top.... you really gotta see it to appreciate it.
I think it went over pretty well, when I left it was all gone.
Yep, gotta say it was another stellar trip back home. The only thing that could've been better was the weather. If it didn't rain everyday it thought about it. I did however remember my rain gear this year, and I am pretty happy to say I didn't have to wear it once..... mainly because I left it in the pull barn.
After a couple weeks everyone was ready for me to go home so I packed up my gear and headed SE to see a buddy from Walmart that moved to Wis. It was good catching up with Ron, he showed me around the place and we talked fishing. We were going to go fishing but decided to stay around the house instead. Next year though I'm doing things different so we will be able to go fishing.
And just like that I'm home and back into the ways of the real world...waiting for next year..
Thanks again to everyone, lotsa love see ya next year.
My least favorite part of the trip....
Taking a header into the back of the driver's side of Dad's truck.
My favorist memory of the trip.... when I brought Dad's truck to the Falls to Steve's.
The fun didn't happen until the trip home.... I was feeling a little bored so...
I picked up my phone and texted Mom, mainly because Dad never looks at his phone... Anyway this is what I sent.
"Dad put's super Unleaded in his truck right?", then I put my phone down and let it cook....
An hour later my phone rings under my Mom's number.
I answer and all I hear my Dad say, in the most nervously, scared, excited voice...
"did you put gas in the truck??? That's a.. That's a diesel....."😰😱
I could hear the level of his blood pressure as I started laughing loudly.... he hung up on me.
I laughed for 2 hours. 😁
